Day 160 sleepy time

Someone find me a bed so I can rest my eyes, I am spent! Dinner of course went exactly as I had planned, no surprise there. Bring on more festivities! but please God let me rest a little first because i’m hanging by a thread here!

Day 159 Mellow

I’m not hungover, it’s worse i’m still a little ’merry’ but that’s perfectly fitting with the season so that’s fine! Tonight it’s my turn to cook. I’m doing my own take on the classic 3 course Christmas dinner. To start: Paprika prawns with a siracha mayo and avocado salsa. For Main: A perfectly cooked roast.. and to finish Italian meringue ice cream with crunchy meringue and a berry compote. Wish me luck!

Day 158 Dinner date

I’m not a big fan of surprises. Tonight Maddy is taking me out for dinner, I don’t know where and it’s killing me. I trust her taste buds so i’m not worried that the food will be bad but WHERE AM I GOING? what a philosophical question, i mean, where am I going not just tonight but in life?

Did you know Saturn has the most moons in our solar system?! Just a fun fact there from my space theme advent calendar. But that information was found by researchers from the US so it’s probably a lie and the election was rigged and the moon landing is a hoax and Bill Gates created coronavirus…wait what?

Day 156 Moses

I went Christmas shopping yesterday and it surprisingly went well! I decided to go first thing and take advantage of the browsing time in the department store 2 hours later when I left it was mayhem on the high street. Luckily enough people were fearful of my dog (who I of course brought with me) so people parted like the red sea #socialdistancing

Day 155 Success

Last night was a great success, the main was delicious and dessert was… we won’t talk about dessert. There are not many mince pies left because the public are buying in bulk, I apologise in advance for being mince pieless

Thanksgiving was last week, but we were in lockdown so we’re giving thanks tonight. I’m letting go of the reins and letting someone else cook tonight. I hope Chrissy is ready because the deli crew are very critical…loving and full of thanks, but critical.

Day 153 Icy

Only 8 space crafts have been to Jupiter. I have a space themed advent calendar with fun facts, is that a fun fact? I lived a life of luxury last night and left the heating on so this morning it wasn’t to difficult to get out of bed. Apparently though this can cause a dry throat, some of my customers have even said they sleep with the windows open! WTF?!

Day 152 And it begins

Many this year started the festive feeling early because 2020 turned out to be, trying to say the least. It is now the 1st of December meaning everyone will start getting involved in the festive habits of day drinking, over eating and over spending. We’ll pretend we don’t do this all year long and the excuse? I’m going to hear it all month long…’F**k it, it’s Christmas!’

Day 151 Step into Christmas

I’ve had a great start to the day. Breakfast was a mince pie and a stollen bite, I can confirm that our Christmas treats are on great form this year! The decorations are up but they are subtle, come on in and see my festicals!

Day 149 Formaggio

I feel much better today. A customer posed a very philosophical question to me yesterday… If you were a cheese, what cheese would you be? Are you a camembert? Loved by many, think you’re fancy but in reality rather generic? Or maybe Gorgonzola, loved by some but a lot of people find you too much to handle. You could also be bland boring but accepted everywhere…Cheddar.

Day 148 I need caffeine

Well i’m tired this morning, not sure why. It’s not like I had some huge party yesterday and pulled an all nighter! I did however make my risotto and my mother agreed my risotto making is now as good as hers, great success!

I got through fazes of favourite meals of the day, right now I love dinner. Tonight i’m doing a prosecco and truffle risotto with a wild mushroom medley on top. No i have not been watching masterchef, I live with a masterchef. #privilege

Day 146 Buzzing

A new week, and i’m buzzing. I had a very wholesome weekend, I watched The Crown and walked the dog in Holland Park. He’s having his stiches out today so he won’t look so scary! I’ve spent the morning making lemon curd for a friend because she had a ‘lemon curd emergency’ didn’t know that was a thing!

If your nervous system is working well you will know that it is cold outside I think it’s quite mild personally, but i am a cold blooded animal. I’m very excited at the thought of having Chinese food for dinner tonight, how luxurious is life today eh?

Day 143 Question everything

I ask a lot of questions, i always have. I don’t mean anything bad by it, I was just always encouraged to question everything. There have been times when this has bitten me in the butt however for the most part I think it makes me more interesting and over time it’s made me more knowledgeable. What i’m trying to say is…I’m now a genius.

Day 142 Dover sole

Last night I had Dover sole with creamy mash potato and a beurre noisette. Home cooking is the best isn’t it? I then feasted my eyes on the TV as Nigella Lawson pranced around her kitchen making tasty delights to tickle her taste buds. She is the definition of food porn. Great entertainment.

Day 141 Oh what a beautiful morning

Half way through November, mince pies are coming soon! I’m starting to feel festive. I had a lovely weekend, yesterday I slept in and then trekked round central London which was surprisingly busy. For many reasons, today is a great Monday!
